Greetings, all! I am pleased to offer private Zoom lessons in music, drawing on my over 25 years of studying and composing.

Music Theory, when taught effectively, should feel very logical, predictable, and formulaic. It is the secret ingredient to understanding music, and with that understanding you can become an informed listener and even create your own work!

For beginners, lessons will cover the fundamentals, including an introduction to music history, Western classical traditions, and music notation (both melodic and rhythmic). You will also learn to identify notes on a keyboard and read music on the staff.

For students with prior experience, we will explore scales, chord building, 7th chords, and key modulation.

For more advanced students, lessons can focus on applying theory through composition and orchestration, helping you develop your own original music.
